Prep for the ARRT Radiation Therapy certification and registration exam.
The Radiation Therapy credential is administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). It certifies that a radiation therapist has the knowledge and skills to safely deliver prescribed doses of ionizing radiation to treat cancer and other diseases, working alongside radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and dosimetrists on the treatment team.
Most candidates qualify through ARRT's primary pathway, which requires completing an ARRT-approved educational program, meeting didactic and clinical competency requirements, and satisfying the ethics requirement before applying for the exam. The credential must be maintained through ARRT's continuing education and continuing qualifications requirements.
The computer-based exam is organized around three content categories — Patient Care, Safety, and Procedures — each broken into subsections that mirror the daily work of a radiation therapist. Questions test both foundational knowledge and applied clinical judgment. Always confirm current exam format, question counts, and requirements at arrt.org.
